Simply Counter is a mantra and tally counter app. It is built to be simple and private: there are no ads and no accounts. It uses a limited, aggregate analytics tool (described below) only to see roughly how many people are using the app.
Simply Counter uses Google Analytics for Firebase to see aggregate usage information — for example, how many people opened the app on a given day. This can include general app-interaction events, coarse (city/region-level) location derived from IP address, and device identifiers used only to distinguish one installation from another. No personal data is collected — Analytics never sees your name, email address, or anything you type into the app (your counters, counts, and mantra text). Advertising ID collection and ad-personalization signals are turned off — this data is never used for advertising, and is not linked to your counters, counts, or any content you enter in the app, which stay on your device as described below. This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Your counters, counts, and history are stored only on your device, using Android's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.
If you use the "Export backup" feature, the app creates a JSON file on your device and hands it to the share sheet you choose (e.g. email, cloud storage, messaging app) — that transfer is between you and the app you pick; Simply Counter itself does not send this file anywhere. "Import backup" reads a file you select back into the app.
If you enable the optional daily reminder, it is scheduled and shown entirely on your device (via Android's WorkManager). No reminder data is sent to any server.
Simply Counter offers optional, one-time purchases to support development, processed entirely through Google Play's in-app billing. Simply Counter does not receive or store your payment details — that information is handled by Google Play under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. A tip does not unlock any feature and no purchase history is retained by the app.
Simply Counter does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
